Bloomberg Arts Internship

The Bloomberg Arts Internship (BAI) program is working to help young people develop the skills and give them the tools they need by providing students with work experience at select cultural institutions, as well as work-readiness and college-preparation training. Rising public high school seniors receive paid summer internships at cultural organizations along with supplementary activities in their city designed to develop workforce readiness skills, create a diverse pipeline to cultural sector careers, promote engagement with the cultural sector, and prepare students to apply to and attend college.

Since it began in 2012, the program has supported 1,700 paid internships at more than 250 cultural organizations and maintains an active alumni network. Bloomberg Arts Internship is the largest, and one of the few, programs that offers paid internships for high school students in the cultural sector in the United States. Select alumni of the summer program also participate in internships at cultural institutions during their senior year in high school and in a summer internship during college. BAI is currently operating in seven cities (Baltimore, Boston, Detroit, New Orleans, New York, Philadelphia, and Washington, D.C), with an expansion to Los Angeles planned for 2026.
